Even though I’m no longer in school, when fall is underway, I get the urge to buy notebooks and pencils, excited by the potential and fresh energy that a new, cooler month brings.
Even when we aren't formally enrolled
in school, we should still make learning a habit. So how can we keep that sense of learning and excitement in our lives?
The social complexities surrounding the way we view environmentalism are very interesting. The idea that not using plastic straws to reduce ocean pollution has risen in popularity in the past few years. It’s an easy issue to get behind - straws are common, and for many people, unnecessary.
While we should definitely
reduce the usage and production of plastic straws, the debate surrounding plastic straws has come to represent a lack of flexibility in current discourse about environmentalism, ableism, and partisan politics.
